Submitted on 29/10/08 | 208 views | Tags: , , , 3 Comments

Dorin published another amazing photo to make me dream of beautiful Vietnam. Definitely an amazing destination to put in my future traveling plans.

The bay looks so pretty and i hope Dorin can comment and give more details about this wonderful place. I found a website promoting this bay and giving more details about it, including more photos.

You can check this photo and others at his online gallery.

Well i can only imagine how great it would’ve been if it were not so cloudy, as i didn’t (yet) won the lotery i couldn’t stay and wait for the monsoon to gooo away.

The location is pretty easy to reach, about 2 hrs ride from Hanoi, any tour operator will have it included in their offer and it costs from $20 (van transfer, around 6 hrs in the bay and lunch included) up to $300 for a 2 nights in the bay, meals and different commodities (well those boats even have satellite tv and hot showers).

As expected of any UNESCO World Heritage it’s a must to visit if you’re in the area. Just as a heads up, do not expect your “english speaking guide” to master the language.

check more pictures from Halong Bay on my website.

    Cheers,
    Dorin

Thanks for the additional information Dorin. We should go again sometime during season. :) I suspect the food was also amazing.

i re-watched “Tomorrow never dies” and noticed this time that Halong Bay is a location in the movie. the fishermen island from where Bond searches the invisible ship.

in 1996 Halong Bay looked so different. it kind of looked secluded and much more peaceful than in the picture above.
